a tragicomedy... comic and tragic... of death and love... ohhhhh...
Bunraku master Mitsuhiro Yakitori finds in his studio a doll (Shisu) that used to belong to his grandfather, with which he played with great affection during his childhood.
He decides to prepare some dramatic scenes from Bunraku stories and tries some new mechanisms that make Shisu almost come to life. For a few endless minutes the magic becomes reality; but so many emotions and stage dramas end up ruining the doll forever and disintegrating the illusion. Faced with such a catastrophe, he makes a fatal decision to commit harakiri... terrible stupidity! An impossible love story, with a grotesque, emotionally strong, poetic aesthetic; with body work based on butoh, physical theatre and pantomime. The tragic point of view of the clown in love, death in butoh, the mimicry between the techniques, the finely mixed music and the emotions during the dramaturgy are put to work in their appropriate doses to give a unique show in a style that achieves a magnetism with a particular sensitivity.
